First time poster here at Travellerspoint, so here goes.

In about a week I will be flying into Edmonton to visit a friend. Two of those days I will be hanging out by my lonesome during the day. I have about 6-8 hours each day of free time. I will have a vehicle and willing to take a drive, if needed. Any ideas on possible places to go? I have been down on White Ave (think that is what it is called) a bit and you name it, I enjoy doing it. So throw those ideas at me.

Cool cafes, short hikes, just places to sit and enjoy the good weather(hopefully)?

Thanks,

Liquid

West Edmonton Mall is our best known attraction.
It is my favorite mall and there is something there for everyone.

Another option is Fort Edmonton. It's fun to look around and see how Edmonton grew and changed

Yeah, West Edmonton Mall is quite the sight. I will perhaps stop there one day. Never been to Fort Edmonton, think I will check that out online.

Thank you very much Fredder.

yes. go to Whyte ave. again. it never gets old, its different every day. There are a million and one cool cafes. places you can just take a book and sit all day.
If you're looking for a place to just sit on the grass.. head to the river valley or the Legislature grounds. hopefully the weather will be nice.
you could also visit the Science Center, Muttart, the Museum, etc if you want more of those types of activities.
