Hey, I was recently in Peru for 2 months. 6 weeks of my trip was in and around Iquitos. An amazing experience.

I am going back to Peru and the jungle in June and will be there for 2-4 months. Let me know if you have any questions - if you go to Iquitos in mid-late June I could show you around, and if you are interested in Ayahuasca I know a couple good curanderos outside of Iquitos. One is in Requena - 16 hours up the Ucayali by la lancha (riverboat).

Iquitos is a beter place than Manu national parc. The jungle is vergin and also many wildlife to see at iquitos. Less tourists and so match cheaper than Manu.
I just come home from iquitos, and next year i go back for the 4th time. Alsways I travel whit emerald forest expeditions. www.royalemeraldforest.com a small familierum company, honest and good prices.
If you have questions let me know.

It is debatable whether or not Iquitos is better than Manu. It is somewhat comparing bananas and papayas. Both are good places to visit. The post by Palomino is misleading as he is the owner of Emerald Forest Expeditions. You have to wonder about someone who posts comments like this...trying to mislead people in thinking they are travelers who visited the lodge. From my experience, Royal Emerald Rainforest has nothing special to offer anyone.
