Ok. So I will be traveling in May to Manchester, Liverpool and Newcastle to took at Unis and was wondering if there is anything that I must do or should know about the night life!

For that matter is there anything that I should check out during the day as well!!!

They are all dope cities. You'll have the warmest reception and a great time. All of those cities have a really varied nightlife, if you like cheesy student stuff then bonus! If you like hiphop then bonus! If you like house then bonus! Same goes for funk, metal, and especially Scouse House!!!

11pm, 12 at weekends but here in Scotland it's 12 during the week and 1am at weekends. Maybe pubs in England also open later but not from my experience. Then you get bar-clubs that are essentially bars but open til 2 or 3am. Then clubs, which open til 3 or 4am up here.

The 24hour drinking laws started a couple of months ago.
However most bars have opted to continue on the 11am to 11pm. There are a few that have extended their trading hours for thursday, friday and saturday usually until 1am. With some central bars until 4am.

Manchester - I am at uni there and it is wicked. Rock and Indie is very big there. Be sure to check out 5th Avenue - a great club and cheap drinks on a monday night (free enty before 10.30 pm and you get 2 free drinks vouchers - have your student card handy though).

If you like 70s music go to Love Train at the Ritz on a wednesday night.

If you are gay go to canal street - it is the gay village in Manchester. In fact if your not gay, go anyway cause its fun - but not on a saturday night as they request memebership cards.

If you like live bands check out the gigs that are on at the union while you are there.

Fallowfield is literally a student village and had lots of pubs and clubs in one small area - definately worth a visit.

There are various bars and clubs up and down Oxford Road e.g. Kro bar and Scu bar which are also fun.

Manchester in the day: Go shopping! Its a great place to shop in the town centre. There are also loads of museums but i've only been to one. A good place to eat is the Orange Grove pub in falowfield - get off at the sainsburys in fallowfield and its just over the road - £2.50 pub meals - yum!

Newcastle: I have never actually been out on a night there but i have heard it is a good night out. To do in the day - go to the Baltic museum and the Quayside in general and shopping again!

Liverpool: Ive never been im afraid!

I've been on nights out in Livepool and Newcastle and I'd say Newcastle was a better time though they are both full of pubs. You will have no problem finding a good night in Newcastle you have literally hundreds of options of places to go -live bands of all kinds, pubs, clubs etc. The pubs near the river and the bridge are particularly nice though. Personally I think Glasgow tops both of them, but you did say England.
