This is a really odd question: can I put my boxes of contact lenses in the hold under the plane? I'm aware that they will most probably freeze, so will this adversly affect them? Cheers:)

I put my contact lenses in my luggage when I flew to South America, and nothing happened to them. I don't think it will freeze inside your luggage...

I actually carried them with me in my carry-on. Not for fear of freezing, but for fear of lost luggage. Them and my glasses went with me everywhere when backpacking. I didn't want to be stuck in a situation where my pack got lost or stolen and I'd have to walk around a strange place with blurry vision. I guess that's just me being cautious!

Cheers,
Katie ;)
