My wife and I will be arriving at Shannon Airport early (6:45AM) Tuesday morning. What do you suggest is the best place to exchange dollars for euros? Thanks very much! Will

Your best bet is almost always NOT to exchange dollars for euros - at least not very many. Bring your ATM card, as most airports have a machine, and simply withdraw money directly. Your bank will charge you a small fee for the exchange as well as apx $5 worth of ATM fees, so I always withdraw around $300 at a time. You can call your bank and tell them the maximum amount you want your withdrawals set at, and also let them and your credit card company know the dates and countries of your travel. Otherwise if they see foreign charges racking up they may get nervous about your card being stolen and shut you off.

Very good advice ^ Just to reiterate that point, a friend of mine went travelling in Europe without notifying their bank and the bank did shut down her account. Some people tend to think of it as one of these scare stories that people tell others when they go travelling but it does happen, if a bank sees a load of large withdrawals being put up on your card in various different countries it's common sense for them to temporarily suspend your account (and it can be quite annoying and time consuming trying to get your card working again from the other side of the world). In saying that, I think withdrawing money from ATM machines (after you notify your bank) is by far the easiest and cheapest way to get money abroad.
