Hey Everyone

My friend and I are currently staying at the School House in Kings Cross and, well, it's poo! But, it's cheap!!!

I know that you get what you pay for but, surely there must be better hostels out there!

Any suggestions as to where to move to? We could probably stretch to between 18-20 AUD if that helps - currently we're paying $85 a week but it's really bad!!!

Many Thanks

I've heard that the base hostel is really good and quite cheap. I think there is a web site called www.whichhostel.com that rates all the hostels around sydney by their prices. I hope that kinda helps.
Good luck. :)

Yeh wake-up, base and surfside are supposed to be the best ones around i think.

I have personally stayed in wake-up, and it is god,the cheapest 10 shared dorm is about $24 (i cant remember-check out the website!)

I stayed in base at magnetic island and it was the best.

I am living in coogee at the mo but am in an apartment, i have heard surfside is good, its defo a great location, you have five-o's below, its a bar/restaurant-its so cheap, they do meals for $5, not much of a menu on those but its good food, have eaten there many times.

Hey im staying in an apartment in potts point. Thats just around the corner from you. I know a decent backpackers called 'the jolly swaggman across the road from school house. My friend has been staying there but hes leaving soon. Ive been hanging out there and the people are very nice. Also they always organise nights out where you get drunk cheap. Thats always a good thing. You should check it out.
