Currently in Sydney and will be for the next few weeks. However, hoping to make our way up to Cairns at some point in the near future and am after any advice you guys can offer with regards to our best means of transport?
Oz Experience doesn't appeal as too expensive but a Hop on Hop off bus service would be ideal - just a cheaper option - any ideas?
I'm planning on doing the same trip in September (i leave in a week for my SE Asia leg of my journey). I've been lookin into getting to Cairns from Sydney and the Greyhound mini travellers pass is what I'm plannin to get. You can use it as a hop on hop off and it only costs AS$234.
I hope this is some help, pass on any travel trips!!!
I did the exact same as you last year when i was over here, i flew from sydney to cairns, it was $160, then i bussed it back down to sydney with Oz Ex.
Don't really want to fly as won't get another chance to see the East Coast - unless I come back someday...
I've been talking to a couple of bugdet travel booking type agency things (i.e. Wicked Travel & Bug Travel) and they seem to have some pretty good offers which include the Greyhound hop on hop off bus right up to Cairns, as well as Whitsunday and Fraser Island combos. Not sure which one we'll go for yet but I reckon that's out best bet.
Whats the whitsunday fraser island deal, im heading up soon and was looking how much they cost
