today we pick up our campervan in Cairns and we'll be making our way south to Sydney over the next four weeks.
The big questions - where should we be heading? What shouldn't we miss out? Do we head inland for a bit or stick to the coast roads?
We know you guys have seen and done lots of groovy things in Oz, so any suggestions you can pass on would be very gratefully received.
Oh - it's a bit wet here in Cairns and we can't see things improving over the next few weeks so we'd like to avoid as many dirt roads as we can...
Thanks in advance folks.
Best wishes and happy trails,
Andy and Sharon
Airlie Beach (for the Whitsundays and Reef)
Noosa (nice little town to chill in)
Gold Coast obviously - Surfers Paradise etc.
Lots more, but 4 weeks isn't actually a long time - you'll spend 2 driving !
Eungella National Park (an hour or so inland from Mackay) for watching platypuses at Broken River.
This doesn't answer your question at all...but I have a question for you! What did you do in Cairns? I'm traveling to Australia for my first time and will be spending time in Cairns. I plan on seeing the rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef, but have any other fun ideas? Thanks and enjoy your trip!
