it will be raining in goa (all day everyday) so maybe u should think about darjeerling, in the mountains in west bengal, it is absolutely beautiful and relaxing (as relaxing as india gets) and u will be there ar the perfect tim when it is not too cold. it is a good back up plan if after 2 weeks u want to escape the humidity
I've found a cheap Indian domestic airline www.spicejet.com - they have pretty good connections, you may book single fares at 50% of the return price (well.. u actually book singles separately) and all tickets cost really little - i know from I was checking it was all 30-50 Euros (sorry, forgot the rupee-pices) for a single flight - dependning on a destination.
There's a great connection from Goa 2 Mumbai for instance
haha, im actually planninng on doing a similar route in end Sept/Oct so maybe see you somewhere on the way
well..oct/nov is a decent time to go to goa, but dont expect any high energy outdoor trance parties and stuff..if u just like to chill on the beaches, then its a good time...u might even consider going to gokarna..the beaches there are exotic...
let me know if u have any other queries on goa, or of any place in particular, i'm a complete goa as well as a travel freak!
take care...love & peace..
about getting there from mumbai to goa, there are buses that leave everyday in the evening..its an overnight journey (around 14 hrs)...its prety cool though, go on one of those sleeper buses...smoke..chillout..sleep..enjoy the journey, and next morning u'r in goa!
i'm from bombay as well as calcutta...spent 1st 16 yrs of my life in bombay..then last 4 years was in cal, now sort of back in bombay, although my folks are still in calcutta..
well anyway..if any of u guys happen to be in one of these places at any time, let me know...we'll catch up..
take care...cheers from india!
love & peace..
Thanks everyone for your responses.
At the moment I think that we will probably fly from Calcutta to Goa and base ourselves in that area for 10 days or so, before spending a couple of days in Mumbai before flying out.
How long do you recommend spending in Calcutta and Mumbai? Is two days enough in each? Or longer?
2 days in Mumbai is good enough provided you are not planning to pack in too much into them,u can enjoy the night life and visit some historical places, other than that there is nothin much to do.
hello to everyone!
I need help- my plan for this summer is india.
maybe somebody knows for some cheep flight from istanbul to mumbai or goa or some city in india?
every information is wellcome, thank you from all my heart!
hi, think a week for Goa should be perfect.
So the one week left, as mentioned by a few North East is beautiful, you could try Sikkim.
(Visa & Permits : In addition to an Indian visa, foreigners must obtain Inner Line Permit (ILP) to visit Sikkim. The permits can be obtained from all Indian missions, Tourism Office, New Delhi, Sikkim Tourism Office, Calcutta and Sikkim Tourism Office, Siliguri on the strength of an Indian Visa. )
If you like wildlife, Kanha National Park, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh is a must.
If you have the time and want a crazy experience...you could travel by train to mumbai from where u ended with ur tour & then fly to goa (www.airdeccan.net, low cost airline)
if you have any specific interests could suggest some places accordingly, india is too diverse a country, has many things.
am sure you will have a good time.
