I'm thinking about upgrading but have not been able to find anyone who has used it. Let me know please!

I have just bought the SP500 UZ and so far I'm loving it! But I have to say, this is the first digital camera I've had and I've only had it a few weeks, so I'm still in the discovery stage...
The plua points are that it has a very big screen, it has a display guide on screen, it has the manual overide and many different settings. There are lots of things to play around with and the photos tend to come out with nice colours. The minus points are that it does not have image stabilisation and cannot simply fit in your pocket. I have been having difficulty taking pictures with the 10x zoom that are in focus - they tend to come out blurred, which is a pain. There needs to be loads of light for them to come out ok, and this maybe a problem.
Overall, though, if you are looking for a compact digital that you can set manually, as opposed to an SLR, this is a good buy... If you can afford one with an image stabiliser, though, this might be a better option.
Hope this helps.
