Hello...A couple buds and I are planning a trip end of Jul beginning of Aug to the following places: Dublin, Amsterdam, Prague, London and Ibiza. Looking for advice on areas to stay in and the names of some relatively affordable, clean, safe hotels/hostels. We are flying in between all cities and unfortunately are travelling with some larger luggage, will this be a big problem in hostels?
In Ibiza, we are torn between San An and Ibiza town, what would you suggest? This is our first time to all cities excluding London. We are mainly looking to party and shop, so somewhere central I assume is ideal. HELP!!!!!!

If I may, let me suggest ditching the larger luggage for something smaller. I travelled with a decent-size duffle bag last time around, and wanted to throw it out the train window and have the Paris-to-Normandy express roll over it a few times for good measure.

The weight and size of big bags will not only tire you out quickly, it will also be a huge inconvenience when trying to board busses and trains, pile your stuff into a single taxi, fit into a European elevator (aka travelling closet), stuff onto a bus or train rack (or just trying to lift it up onto the rack), squeeze down a bus or train aisle, run through the airport to catch your just-about-to-depart flight, and so on.

The best lesson I've learned (the hard way) is to travel as light as possible. The absolute racket I made winding down four tight flights of stairs in a teensy, weensy hotel in Caen made me promise myself I'd never, ever do that again.

And for London, you can try out University dorms during the summer. They're cheapish, and the one I stayed at came with a monstrously huge buffet breakfast.

Thanks for the post tway. Unfortunately we can't ditch the bags. I'm travelling with a couple of princesses so to speak. I've tried to convince them to pack on the lighter side, but that got nowhere. We are only travelling by plane and have already discussed the cab situation, willing to take two to and from airports if need be.

Tell your princesses if they can't squeeze in 10 shirts, 20 string tangas, 10 bras, 5 pants and 2 skirts into an Deuter AC Futura 42 (or any other similar back) they're fatso's.

Don't laugh, it is true.

I'm a bit horizontally challenged myself and I always need double the space for half the amount of clothes my skinny sister takes.

BTW, if you are flying in Europe, the maximum baggage allowance is 20 kilogramms, ie 44 lbs . (Suggestion: Tell your princesses it is 22 pounds.)
