Hi there I stayed at ashanti. Was really nice room, bar, insite travel agent, and very close to table mountain.
If I go back I will stay there. To go to table mountain ask reception to call the rikki taxi (will be a surprise)!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stayed in ashanti as well but just for 1 night then moved to The Backpack as ashanti was full - would recommend them both, particularly The Backpack as its slightly cheaper (tho not much) the people are really friendly and its close to Long St (where everything happens!). Theres lots on Long St too but im not sure how much sleep you'd get!

You'll have a great time wherever you stay - wish i was going back!!

Hi!

I stayed in the Backpack for a couple of days, and in Zebra crossing for a few as well. The Backpack is, as posted above, conviniently situated: walking distance from Long St., but quiet enough to get some sleep if you want to. Not too large dorms (about 10 beds) and equipped with everything you expect from a backpackers...including very friendly and helpfull staff (they got us even a car to buy!). The Zebra Crossing is 50 meter down the road from The Backpack, and even more quiet. If you want to party: go to the Backpack, with its own pool and large bar with pooltable. If you use your backpackers just to get your much-needed rest: go to Zebra Crossing! Prices are alike: about 75 Rand for a dorm bed. N-joy the stay in the mother city!
