There is a website put on by he Earh Day Network which allows one to calculate your impact, or 'Ecological Footprint', you place on the eath.

It uses information such as: Your city and it's size, what and how much you drive, what kinds of things you eat, etc.

It is all very general, but it give you a good idea of how many earths it would take if everyone lived as you do.

Learn your impact: Ecological Footprint Quiz

I know for a lot of us it is hard: There is little to no public transportation where I live. If I can't get there on my bicycle I end up having to drive, especially for work.

Most of us use aeroplanes to get around for our global escapades, I think is really help to put in perspective what kind of impact one person can make.

--------------------
MY RESULTS
--------------------

CATEGORY GLOBAL HECTARES

FOOD 1.1

MOBILITY 1.3

SHELTER 2.3

GOODS/SERVICES 2.8

TOTAL FOOTPRINT 7.5

IN COMPARISON, THE AVERAGE ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT IN YOUR COUNTRY IS 8.8 GLOBAL HECTARES PER PERSON.

WORLDWIDE, THERE EXIST 1.8 BIOLOGICALLY PRODUCTIVE GLOBAL HECTARES PER PERSON.

IF EVERYONE LIVED LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NEED 4.2 PLANETS.

I got 10.1... although some questions were a bit tricky. The question about how far you drive your car left no option to say I don't own one. I'm deduting a whole .1 for that!

Interesting though, B!

Sorry - that's 10.1 points, or 6 planets.

Thanks for posting your scores, I agree some of the questions are a bit vague... but still it gives you a good idea. You can put 0km for driving. Or do you mean you drive but don't own one?
