DFW direct to Panama?

Travel Forums Central/South America & The Caribbean DFW direct to Panama?

Hi...anyone know of a direct flight / airline to and from Dallas Tx. and Panama city?

I can only find flights that stop in Houston. This turns a relatively short distance (as the crow flies) into an 8 hr. journey!

Your help is much appreciated.

No, Houston like Atlanta and Miami are gateway cities to Latin America. You will have to tolerate the stopover.

Wow....talk about inconvenient. One could actually drive to Houston from Dallas (or vice versa)...and ultimately make similar time to flying.

I thought there was like a copacabana airlines (or something?) from DFW to Panama..but I guess I'm wrong.

I had actually contemplated a permanent move to Panama because it would just be a 3 hour jaunt to see my kids in Dallas....(or did I post that aready?).

Thanks for the reply, Dbloom but do you know this information to be 100000000% certain?

I wasn't able to find any direct flights from Dallas to Panama City listed anywhere either. Layovers were Houston, Atlanta or Miami.

The airline you are thinking of is Copa Airlines. Looking at their website, the only US cities they fly into are Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK) and Orlando (MCO).

I think Dave is correct and you will have to make a stop-over in one of the major hubs.

Certain, Houston is a hub of Continental which goes to Panama..Atlanta..Delta and Miami ..American Airlines..the web site of Copa is www.copaair.com/ so you can see for yourself.

Maybe I'll consider Buenos Aries instead of PYC.....time wise, probably not a much longer trip (IF there is a direct to DFW;)

I thank you both and look forward to reading your future posts.
