Hey,
I'm a 20 yr old 3rd year med student from Dublin.I'm fairly flexible but I really want to visit China as well as the surrounding countries this summer(end of June-End of August).I had planned on teaching English in China (I actually booked a voluntary teaching programme)for the summer but decided that I'd prefer to spend the money and time travelling.I've done a lot of research on China and how to get around it and where to stay etc:).It would be great to have a travel mate(s) to experience what China and SE Asia have to offer!
So if anyone has similar plans and wants to have an unforgettable summer travelling in China, Vietnam ,Thailand etc, get back to me.Thanks a million.Rich.

Hey, my name's Joe and I live in Tampa Florida in the US. I am a first year finance student at the University of Florida. Two of my friends and I are going to be in China between late June and early August this summer. My buddy who is also a third year med student and I are flying out from Florida and another one is meeting us there from the Czech Republic.

What I wanted to do was to land in Shanghai and see the glitz and glamour of the big city and hit up the clubs. I would then go to the surrounding cities such as Hangzhou, Suzhou, watertown of Zhouzhuang. Take a 10 hour train to Huangshan and go climbing.

From there either to Xi'an to bike around the city wall and see some Muslim Culture and eat a lot of kebabs. I believe Fujian province in a gem and I would like to go climbing and then go relax on the beaches and islands of Xiamen.

We will definitely go to Hong Kong and then go to western China to Guangxi and Yunnan province near Burma and Vietnam.

I have always wanted to go to Vietnam and Thailand as well, let me know what you have planned for SE Asia.

That's kind of a rough itinerary. Where in China has fascinated you and what have you learned from your research?

Cheers!

Hey, will be there (MY, TH, SN, CM) on July 2006. Should any one want a meetup or a drink (or both!), do drop over a message.

rifarrel: So when will you be in Shanghai? I guess the dates of 3-6/7 no longer stand?

I'm flying to China on July 23, staying about 10 days, then taking trains through Vietnam (one week), Cambodia (one week), then around Thailand (two weeks), finishing up on September 8. If that corresponds to anyone's itinerary and you want to meet up somewhere along the way, let me know! My first time in this part of Asia, so would welcome the company for sure!
