Dragontm,

Thanks very much for the update!

Could you please let me know if your wife was arrested and had fingerprints taken?

Thanks!

Apologies Terry!

I did have a brief look and couldn't find the original post!!

I would be keen to hear any stories from anyone who may have travelled on the VWP after being arrested for assault, fingerprinted, released on bail and then all proceedings dropped!

Thanks,

Colin

Hello all from Dallas Fort Worth airport!

I posted (425 429) with a very long post about what I found throughout the whole thread and what my position was.

But today, I got a visa stamped and it all went smoothly without a hitch!
So as I' m an adult, with controlled substance convictions from 1995 and 1998 and a fraud conviction from 1999, I said no on the esta and got through.

I gave my electronic prints, my picture and now they should remain in the system, so continue to say no and hopefully continue to be allowed to enter the USA.

So unless they can do a more detailed spot check if they feel it necessary, Of which only 3000 checks per year allowed at present,( see ukba fcc document) i can only presume with confidence, that no paper and ink fingerprints were scanned from the uk and sent to the USA system, nor any crb or police computer data has been sent.

What I have done has defrauded the us border control and I have not answered honestly to the esta, but had I self reported a controlled substance crime I would not have been allowed in due to my convictions of possession, cultivation and supply of cannabis. Convictions with cso's not prison. But fraud is moral turpitude which could be considered negotiable with the us embassy, but drugs in my opinion from previous posts appears a non starter.

So my advice is say NO to drugs!!!!! And have fun in the USA!!

How my status will apply to Australia , New Zealand, Canada and South Africa is yet to be found out. So if anyone know any info about that then please post, perhaps on a clearer and more concise thread than most of the useless rubbish on this one.

Also I requested a freedom of info , this is what they replied after 6 weeks!
Information requested
I would like to know exactly what Data has been shared with the FCC, the US in particular. Please can you tell me exactly:
i) What Biometric Data has been shared with the US, old paper and ink fingerprints, digital prints, retinal scans, DNA etc?
We share sets of electronic fingerprint records, which have been anonymised by removal of biographic data.
ii) From what Date has this data has been shared?
We started to share data with Australia and Canada on 3 November 2009. The arrangement was extended to the United States on 1 July 2010 and to New Zealand on 26 January 2011.
iii) From what source, Police National Computer or data base has the data has been captured?
The data shared with FCC partner countries is obtained from records held within the Immigration and Asylum Biometric System operated by the Home Office.

This then appears to suggest that all biometric info is from UK immigration, so not internal criminal , unless you're a super bad criminal , perhaps!

Big up to cheers terry and all that posted relevant factual info here!
And I hope this gives hope to all the people out there who shouldn't be punished with their families for ever for stupid shit that everyone can do!
I've still got 6 hours and travelled since 10am from Manchester today so after 22 hours i'm getting emotional!
Safe travels

Hi
I have conviction of theft from employer from 2002.
Should I get Visa?
Also - do the US and UK share finger prints?
Do the US and UK share crim record details?

Sarah, your question has been answered over and over and over throughout this thread.

In my personal opinion I would advise you to forget it ever happened and wipe it from your memory banks. Nothing is for sure though, you're always rolling the dice somewhat.

Good luck.

Cheers,
Terry
