Brilliant thank you for your advice , where abouts is the nearby storage and how much is it , i am thinking , i cant go without my mobile phone !
How come your situation took so long ?
My situation is arrest but no conviction , with my ACRO showing no trace..
definitely no mobile phone but anyone there for criminal record reasons has an extra long wait vs everyone else so definitely bring a magazine or something!
storage is in a chemist nearby, not sure how much as I didn't need it but google and you'll find the info. they won't let you in if you have any electronics at all!
the process is long! booked appt sept last year, already long waiting lost then had to postpone twice because organising all paperwork takes forever. once referred for waiver the current wait time is 26 weeks and that's how long mine took! then courier passport to embassy and back takes another few days so definitely don't book flights til you have the visa in your hand!
if you want later i can send you a list of everything i took with me as they liked how prepared I was and anything you can do to make them want to help you is good!
so what paper work do you need to organise if you don't mind me asking. Im looking to go through the process soon and just after some guidance and info if possible?
yes could you also please send me the list of everything you took with you as well.
Really, I thought from filling in the form online and paying, I would be given a interview date in about 6 weeks, I have no need to postpone as I have all my paper work in order.
From applying online how many weeks was your first interview date?
I need to fly in November, I have not yet booked flights, but it is for a wedding, so kinda hoped I would have things okayed at the interview in hopefully 6 weeks, I have yet to press the button and finalise my application d160, I was going to run through it one more time than send it Monday.
Please let me know how long it was for your first interview date from first applying please
Ps I thought the potential 26 week wait was only for those refused at interview and then appealed against the decision?
the interview date will probably be 6 weeks or less, but is it a waiver of ineligibility you're applying for? that's what you need if you can't get a simple esta because of a criminal record and that's what the 26 week wait is for. the embassy officer looks at all your paperwork and either recommends you the waiver or not. they aren't given out or approved at the appointment, just sent off to be approved and they take the full 26 weeks from what I've read and experienced. you also can't track it like a normal visa so you only hear back when it's been approved or not and they tell you not to make travel plans til then.
if you don't mind saying why you don't think you can get through with an esta then maybe someone will know more detail because I only know my specific case.
dt88 - I'll get you that list when I get home from work
Hi, thank you for your reply, I am mostly going by what I have read on here, even those with criminal records have been okayed on the day or had to appeal.
my situation is basically, arrest, charge, acquittal found not guilty on all counts, so I don't have a criminal record as such, of course there is a record of events and I was arrested and charged , I have a certificate of acquittal from the Crown Court to show I was found not guilty.
was your arrest in the uk or us?
