Hello. I am a 24 year old boy from Norway. I have just travelled thailand for a month and I had a great time. Back home in Norway I now have a need to travel more, and two possible locations have come up. Eiter South africa or south america.
Are there anyone that has been there that can give me any hints. Where should I start out, how much time should I put aside and stuff like that.
Or if anyone are planning to leave for one of the locations in the near future. (I think I will leave in June. ) then please send me a note, and maybe we can travel together.

South Africa is one of my favourite places, If you go go for more than a month, it's coming up to winter there now though, so it's definately much better to travel to in our winter (their summer) there's an amazing carnival in Cape town over the summer where all the bars basically flow into one another and everyone drinks on the streets.
Also winter there on the east coast (Port Eliz and Durban) is quite windy and you defo don't want to miss out on diving so really best go november december time.
I however have never been to South America, am flying in May to Brazil and travelling round perhaps a bit in Peru and Argentina for three months your welcome to hook up with me.

I've been living 6 months in Chile, and I've been travelling 4 months in South-America, mainly Chile, Peru, Bolivia and some parts of Argentina.
South-America is my favourite continent, it has very beautiful places, and very friendly people... My favourite places in Sout-America are:
Patagonia (Torres del Paine, Perito Moreno)
San Pedro de Atacama (North Chile)
Salar de Uyuni and all the lakes in the altiplano when you cross the andes from Bolivia to Chile
The Iguaçu falls
North-East Peru (small villages in the andes like Tingo), mainly because this area is not touristy and maybe the most beautiful part of Peru...
South-America is the place to go if you have a small budget; Peru, Bolivia and Argentina are so cheap!
Any questions about SA, just ask or send me a message!
I've never been in Africa, so I can't tell you anything about it, maybe that will be my next trip
