I found the beaches in Thailand rather tiny and dirty compared to others I've seen. Some of the most beautiful onces I've ever been to where in Uruguay, around Punta del Diablo. Ipanema in Rio de Janeiro is just awesome since it is in the middle of the city but still so gorgeous. And what about 90 Miles Beach in N.Z.? How come nobody have mentioned that one?

Whitehaven Beach (Whitsunday Islands in Australia) is simply stunning, only reachable by boat, preferably yatch ;)

have a look on google images :)

The thing I rememeber most was that the sand is squeaky!

Quoting mtlgal

Roaton, Honduras

nice call

but i think Maine beaches although cold have some of the best scenery, esp in the fall.

I'm actually sitting here at work at the beach in Ogunquit Beach, Maine. The scenery is awesome but the water is way too cold for comfortable swimming.

Best beach I've been to: Oistins Beach, Barbados.

I found Praia Lopes Mendes and Praia Dois Rios to be particularly sublime! Gorgeous hike to both(well worth it!!) virtually deserted as well!(at least during the off season). They are both located on beautiful Ilha Grande in RJ sate Brasil

The best has to be the beautiful beaches of Seychelles. Particular the Island of La Digue, Where only bicycle and Ox-Cart still exist as the only means of transport. But the 42 granitic and coral islands are just as breathless.

I think my favourite beaches are Virgin Cove, Samoa, and Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsundays.
