I will have the opportunity to travel to southern Argentina and southern Chile (Ushuaia, el calafate, etc) around the middle of June, or I can do it late July/early August. My question is this - will it be too cold to travel comfortably in these areas at these times, or is the cold just a problem at night??
You would probably freeze over there during that season, try to rearrenge your trip to start at September, not earlier than that.
It will be either snowy (if you´re lucky) or rainy (if you´re not). It doesn´t get extremely cold (just below freezing point, only on the steppe and high in the mountains you will find extreme temparatures) but it won´t be inviting weather for let´s say, -trekking.
Hey, what about going down as far as Bariloche? Would the weather make it difficult or less enjoyable?
Bloody hope not, I'm looking forward to Bariloche!
