While we're on the matter, I thought I'd point out some of the other (maybe less apparent at first glance changes)

• new design which complies better with coding standards (boring for most, but important for us )
• The homepage has become even more customisable. Select the content you find most interesting and shuffle it all around to create your own personal window on the site. This is 'drag and drop' technology and pretty fun to play around with!
• A site wide search form has been added which will help you quickly find the information you are looking for. Search users, blogs, forum entries, photos and countries all at once. Or drill down and search for specific things like photos taken by Sam, or photos tagged as 'Malia' etc.
• New xml photo feeds so you can subscribe to any photo gallery on the site. If you are using the excellent Firefox browser, simplyclick on the icon in the address bar. If you aren't, just follow the link on the page or download Firefox for free
• New member profile pages including profile pictures, for example my profile page
• Related blog posts on destinations pages, for example Australia
• The long awaited 'edit' button for the forums
• New FAQ section with FAQ's broken down per topic (and including a lot more FAQ's)
• Affiliate blog area (for travel businesses wanting to offer our blog technology on their sites)
• International prepaid SIM cards
• We've added some ads because we have bigger bills to pay
• Tons of other things....

Oh, and there's a survey + great Motorola Razr & Explorer SIM card giveaway for members !!!

Yes, those bigger bills are unfortunate aren't they. Shame you can't just get bandwidth and all that work for free !

People are free to install whatever plugins they want. Naturally we'd prefer people click on an ad every now and then and help keep advertisers happy, but if they have a problem with them, I'd rather they hid them and kept enjoying Travellerspoint than left altogether Personally I don't think they are that big of a bother and the new ads (google) are pretty far down the page as well.

I do have one comment about the RSS feed display page. I've looked at it using both Safari and Firefox. (Yup, downloaded the latest version of FF.) The page is great when viewed in Safari - nice layout. But with Firefox, the information is there, just one continuous line of text. Maybe it's just me because I'm on the Mac, but it's not pretty.... (Sorry!) Do I not have something set up correctly in FF?

Magic buttons aren't as shiny and pretty in FF either, but that's beside the point.

The new layout is awesome! Congrats guys!

I'm viewing it with IE (Yes, bad me for not updating my browser)and so far everything is perfect! I can't wait to try out all the new features!

Feedreaders display these things as they see fit - it's not something we have control over. The way Safari displays them is indeed 10x slicker than FF. If you want better looking feeds in FF, maybe try something like the Sage extension to make it work. Click Tools > Extensions to start the search

I'd actually be interested if there is someone with the new iPhoto who could test whether the feed works there. I know they have a photo feed system set up. It would be pretty cool to subscribe to someone else's photo gallery in iPhoto.

Well, Safari's buttons are simply incomparable in their beauty. Again, I think there is a FF extension that will make your buttons look like Safari!
