Hello, I'm a 24 year old female and I am going with my boyfriend in June to Costa Rica for 15 days.
I will be starting my trip out by landing in San Jose in the evening so I will be sleeping in the Capitol my first night. From San Jose I would like to go to Monteverde and check out the cloud forest and I would also like to see the Arenal volcano. I most deffiently want to make my way to the Caribbean Coast for 2 or three days. If I have enough time left I want to make my way to either the Osa Peninsula or Nicaragua.
Can anyone who has traveled Costa Rica during the wet season give me any recommendations on my plans?
Sounds like a good time. The only issue with travel in Costa Rica is that the roads are bad, and so it can take a long time to travel between places. I put together a bunch of advice based on my trip to Costa Rica in March of 2004. I posted my Costa Rica advice in my blog.
Sorry, I gave up on Costa Rica a few years ago, personal (I reside in another Central American country) however if you need information on the Libera-Ocotal-Playas del Coco area near Liberia, Guanacaste NW CR easy border cross into Nicaragua, another world, where we have a non profit organization that aids both adults and children and we sure invite you to spend a couple of days with us, practically no one speaks English and you won't run into many tourists, as well we can arrange a tour of Pacific side of Guatemala for you..the roads are better and the people are more, let's say, genuine than in Costa Rica. message me if you wish for loads of info.
Sorry typo error---Pacific side of Guatemala should be Pacific side of Nicaragua.
Between now and late June is a good time to visit CR..in July and August into early September is swarming with tourists.
