I like ice mountains, as well as challenging myself. To Mt. Everest, I am always awesome! It is my dream. This is why after coming back from Nepal in this Jan, I decide to go back for Everest Base Camp trekking in 2007. And I plan to fly in & out from Lukla and the whole trip will be 15~16 days.
In this Jan I had been to Nepal for 20 days including 8 days ABC trekking. Nepal is a wonderful and amazing country. And the trekking was really enjoyable and rewarding!
But now I am a solo traveler. I want to look for more fellow travelers who are in the same camp. I am an experienced traveller and outgoing, adaptable and friendly. I hope to compare notes and discuss the itinerary with my companions and make timely preparation. I prefer hiring the guide/porters and travelling on our own.
Anyone has the same interest, please feel free to send the message to me.
how much for the budget to Mt. Everest?
Below cost is over-estimated to make you on the safe side and it is very rough -
Airticket fee: Kathmandu - Lukla - Kathmandu: USD97*2=USD194
Entrance fee to Nation Park: RB1000=USD15
Hiring a guide/porter: USD12/day*15=USD180
Room and board, including hot water: USD18/day*15=USD270
Total: USD659 per person for 15 days trekking.
Above cost excludes your ticket to & leave from KTM and your other expenses in KTM if you will stay in KTM for some days. And the tour package that some agents quote per person is very high and around USD1500. But I didn't study what the package includes.
If we can find enough companions, we can absolutely do it on our own (with good guides/porters) and don't need to worry about the safety issue.
