Berne's character's - Is Siggy still alive?

Travel Forums Europe Berne's character's - Is Siggy still alive?

I know somebody can help me with this. I grew up around Berne and left Switzerland 5 years ago. After giving some Travel advice I suddenly remembered Siggy, the 'Old-City Tenor'.
He's that homeless alcoholic guy who goes around the city singing on the top of his lungs, you can hear him from miles off. I was wondering if he is still around?
Are there any other character's around lately, I know there was this guy (can't remember his name) who was President and only member of the 'Free Socialist Citizens' and ran for a seat in the parliament a few years back. He was even on 'Victor's Spaetprogramm', a satirical show. But sadly he died a few years back...
And what about 'Fifty', the trans-sexual sitting outside the Migros Market knitting? Is he still around? I grew up in the town where he lived and often saw him and his boyfriend running through the train for no apparent reason... I think anybody who ever saw him in a women's swimming costume will remember him....

Dunno about Siggy and co. but I do know that the bears in the "Baerengrube" are to be moved to a nice reserve by the river!
Not sure what they will do with the "Grube" though once the bears have gone.

What? No more drunken idiots falling into it and attacking the bears with snow balls???

I think it was about time to get rid of it, it didn't seem very animal friendly in there to me....
(although I enjoyed throwing carrots at them when I was a kid).

They probably turn it into a tourist pit or something...
