jackief has indicated that this thread is about China

Hi, my husband and I are retired Canadian teachers. We visited China for 2 weeks in March 2006 and did the usual touring now we want to return to learn more about the real China and meet the people. We originally thought about doing volunteer work in China- tutoring, teaching, helping with the elderly or disabled but the costs of volunteer programs is very high and our pensions are modest.:( Their time committment is about 6 months and is much too long as we have elderly parents here in Canada and grandchildren that would miss us too much so we can only stay about 1 month. We hope to come in January or February of 2007 to volunteer. We would hope that you would know about who we could volunteer for. We can teach children English or perhaps even other family members or even help in your workplace. We do not want to sit around each day. If you can provide us with a homestay, or several homestays, or know of someone who could we would appreciate the help.

Thank you Jackie and Tom from Canada

Hi, madam:
It’s my pleasure to answer this question for you, since you and your husband would go to China next year, there is plenty of time for me to do some contact work to you in my spare time.

While, this is one thing I want to know, do you want to live freely or not, and which equipments do you need (kitchen, bathroom, etc.)?

Anyhow, you need give me a detailed description of your teaching experience at first.
