millys85 has indicated that this thread is about Brazil

I'm going to be in brazil for a week before i have to be in rio for another week, i was wondering if anyone knew of an excursion or tour that i could do in that week that is relatively cheap, worth doing and safe and interesting for a 20 year old female travelling by herself, hopefully one that ends in rio where i meet the rest of my crowd.

Thank you for any help and advice you guys can give me

Start your trip in Campo Grande, capital of the state Mato Grosso do Sul. From there you can go with a company to the Pantanal region.
There you will see wild animals and birds.
Eventually continue to Bonito and make one of the beautiful walks in the nature. Rio Sucuri (snorkling between the fisches)is the best.
Then, take the bus to Rio de Janeiro.
If you like more architecture, go and visit the colonial cities Ouro Preto, Mariana, Tiradentes and Sao Joao del Rey.
You can manage this by bus.
Do you prefer the beaches? Go to Buzios or Paraty or Ilha Bela with the bus.
Have a nice trip and enjoy Brasil.

I strongly recommend the first option.
I went to Bonito 2 years ago and it´s great. I stayed at a very good hostel there ( They have a lot of people travelling alone there and it´s easy to make friends. They probaly can help you with tranportation and excursions to Pantanal.
But I went from Rio to Campo Grande by plane... it´s very far from Rio! Try Tam ( or Gol ( for airfares.
I live in Rio, so if you need any tips you can send me a message.
Have a nice trip!

As you see!!
In the busstation at Campo Grande you have the company "Pantanal Discovery". They make trips in the Pantanal for almost 40,- Euro a day all included. Let you drop of at "Buraco das Piranhas" (they know it all there) were you get the bus to Bonito ( 5à 6 hours).
Probably you can take a bus to Rio from Bonito (more or less 25 hours) otherwise you have to return to Campo Grande. Bus Campo Grande to Rio: 24 hours.
Do it, you never regret!!

Hi, I live in Rio and I find the journey to Bonito interesting, but next to Rio has others localities with nature as the Ilha Grande, with beaches and localities for walk, good journey.
