[i]Most RTW airline tickets allow you to choose from a list of 100+ destinations and plan a trip with 5 or more stops starting around $1600 - you usually get the best deals when you pick their frequently used destination packages.

A travel-buddy of mine recently told me about an "unlimited airline ticket" that allows you to do as many stops as you can fit in to a 12 month period. They told me to search for it online.... weeks of searching and I haven't found anything like it! If you have any information about where to obtain this type of ticket I would REALLY appreciate it!

Also - if you are looking to take an around the world trip - traveling for one full year to as many as 40 destinations - send me a message - maybe we can take the trip together!

Cheers!
Bernadette

I've never heard of anything like that... and although "unlimited flights in 12 months" sounds appealing in theory and a year sounds like a loooong amount of time, in practise you'd be rushing about like a mad thing to pack in your 40 countries, and would barely scrape the surface of each in that timescale.

I'd really recommend re-thinking what you want to get out of your 12 months - do you want to come away with a long list of ticked-off countries, or would you rather concentrate on a lesser number but really do them justice?

Whatever you go with, best of luck with the planning and happy travels!

cheers

Not to mention that even if such a thing existed, you would still have to pay airport taxes at each airport - that can actually add up quite a lot!

For me that's not a "around the world trip". It's just nonsense to rush from one country to next instead of enjoying the trip. A real around the world trip is done by land and sea and require at least 3 Years and is done Without any airplaines. To fly around is nothing special and can be done by any fool. I allways have to laugh at the tourists who come to Switzerland for one or two days an visit all europe within a month or two... That's just a joke. Because they don't get to know anything about europe at all. How would they get to know the difference between Irish pubs and swiss bars or french and italian vine or french and english girls? This kind of travelling is just stupid waste of ressources. You would better go to Disneyland instead of this... Maybe they have a 3D around the world show... That would be cheaper and gives you the same experience like your "Worldtrip". I'm sorry for beeing so hard but i just have enough of all that ignorants, who call themselves "travellers" and rush around the world speaking only their native language and want to eat everywhere their native food... If you don't have the time and money to do a real trip around the world do something original and just a stupid "jumping from airport to airport"...

I have to say, I disagree entirely phillippe. It's one thing to have your own ideas about what constitutes a great trip - it's another thing entirely to turn your nose up at what other people enjoy (or dream of). 12 months is a very long trip and more is usually simply not practical or affordable. By the sound of it you were privileged enough to travel for longer, but this doesn't excuse such snobbery towards the rest of the world. I guess travelling isn't guaranteed to make you a more open minded person

Philippe - Did you even read the post?

I am looking for more INFORMATION so I can start to PLAN a trip in 2008.

Since you obviously didnt read it? or maybe cant do the math? It says as MANY as 40 destinations! I would not spend less than 10 days in a location. 10 days is NOT enough time to "know" a city, but it IS enough time to "taste" it - to expierence it and if you enjoy yourself you can always plan a longer trip in the future.

  • **Once again people this is a post looking for GOOD information - if you want to rant and rave please go somewhere else - I dont have time to read such nonsesnse!

I'm not sure if this is what you've heard but I've been looking at the flights that allow you to travel anywhere and as many flights as you wish within a 29000 miles limit.

Try this site:

I am hoping to travel for 9-12 in 2008 also, have just started planning now so any advise you can give me would be great, feel free to mail me.
