Windshield wipers were invented by an African American woman, Mary Anderson, in 1904. Earlier versions had been designed, but hers were the first to actually work.

There are alot of crazy old laws that don't make sense anymore...yet are still in place..

In Michigan, it is against the law for a lady to lift her skirt more than 6 inches while walking through a mud puddle.

Alaska law says that you can't look at a moose from an airplane.

It is against the law to mispronounce the name of the State of Arkansas in that State.

In Tennessee, it is against the law to drive a car while sleeping..hmm, I would hope so...

Tablecloths were originally meant to be served as towels with which dinner guests could wipe their hands and faces after eating!

They do not like it when you call it Ar-Kansas.

It's a well-known fact that when you sneeze, it comes out of your nose at 100 miles an hour...

Another fact, just learnt by me.

Huntington is the only station in the DC Metro system whose name contains none of the letters in the word 'mackerel.'

St John's Wood is the only station in the London Underground system whose name contains none of the letters in the word 'mackerel.'
