ello evryone, its a weather related question this. I am wanting to go thailand in january but am afraid the weather will be rubbish. i cant go any other time of the year as i have work etc grr! i like to go on holiday and be in a hot climate and wouldnt mind a nice tan. I have been looking on websites and they give me diffrent info all the time, dont you just hate that! I wonder if anyone can tell me what the weather is like in january? is it warm enough to get a tan? do you sweat in january alot as i dont really like to sweat alot. Also is it warm enough to go to the beach everyday and enjoy soakin up the sun? Many thanks
Relax, Thailand is tropical and warm almost all the time. Chiang Mai in Jan. would be a bit cool, but not the beach cities. You will be able to hit the beach everyday if you choose Pattaya, Phuket, Koh Samui etc. Dec. Jan. Feb are the best months in Thaialnd. Not blazing hot yet, but after the rainy season. Have a great trip.
January is probably the best time to go to Thailand. Generally warm, sunny and a lot less humid then other months. In the north it can get quite cool at night, but it's always warm & sunny during the day. Bangkok is also barerable compared to the rest of the year.
I was in Thailand last year in January and it was totally hot everywhere. Koh Pha Ngan and Bangkok were the hottest but even Chiang Mai was hot. The only time I felt cold was on a hilltribe trek during the night (but this was staying in a basic hut), and overall the weather was excellent.
Not to worry, January is perfect for Thailand.
you want to get a tan, but you dont want to sweat a lot? January is beautiful, mind the sweating, cool off in the ocean!
Thailand is excellent in January for holidays in the sun an on the beach, there is always a breeze so sweatin g is not much of a problem and the people are fantastic to meet. Watch out for the rip off merchants and petty thieves on their beaches just like every where else and they can ruin a holiday.
You might also consider The West Indies; St Lucia, St Thomas's, Barbados are also top places for a sunshine holiday and they all speak English.
