I'm still searching thru flight options for my trip to oz in september and i was just wondering which stopover destination would be best...i only intend to stopover for 48 hours max so where should i stop and what can i do?singapore...?..bangkok..?..dubai..?...
any one have any recommendations...i'm flying from manchester in the uk...
(yes...the wallpaper...i know)
I can recommend both Singapore & Bangkok thoroughly. Though if you are flying from Manchester Singapore Airlines fly from there direct to Singapore so this might be handy for you? Otherwise it will be Man - SIN to BKK or MAN - LHR - BKK. There is definately enough time to see a lot of SIN in 48 hours, BKK and SIN are totally different and l think l prefered BKK as it is a wonderful city with lots to to, great food shopping and sight seeing! It is much more suited for back packers l think, but SIN is great too but more expensive than BKK. I cant comment on Dubai though never been!
Yeah singapore sounds cool and i've heard singapore airlines are pretty good to so that looks like the way to go....unless anyone else has any surgestions.?
thanks for the reply...
I flew Singapore Airlines last year out of Manchester and they were brilliant - lots to eat and drink and a fantastic entertainment system. If you are flying economy l think they are a great carrier to fly with.
From what I've heard, Singapore is like most western cities and is more expensive than Bangkok or Dubai. I'm heading to Bangkok on my way back from Australia sometime next year, and am looking forward to it. Apparently Bangkok is amazing. Everyone I've spoken to who has been loved it.
I've never been to Singapore, but all I hear is how boring it is.
Dubai on the other hand, is a real eye-opener.
Maybe i should stay in one place on the way out and another on the way back.....oh decisions...decisions....
thanks for the replies anyway..
i always try to stop over in singapore because it is so nice and so easy and it is always warm there, nothing worse then a stop over in a freezing country when u put the warm clothing in your check in
Going to oz in october with a WHV. I have a 2 day stop over in tokyo on the way out there then a stop off in bangkok on the way back. The tokyo stop is abit out of the way and will be very expensive but its just a place ive always fancied
