January 2008 - Volunteering in Guatemala for 2 months followed by travelling for as long as possible!!

If I'll find the money i will travel around in south and middle america for 6 months. I don't know exactly what i will visit but i plan on going in february of 2008. So i still have a lot of time to plan my trip. Thats why i am on this forum reading a little bit.

My boyfriend and I are doing project work in Antigua for a month, this August. We are looking to travel up to Mexico afterwards, ending up in Cancun! I am hoping this is not too ambitious! Any advice?

Hi all,

My partner and I are about to head off on a round-the-world trip and are starting off in Mexico in September 2007 and heading south as far as Panama and visiting each country in between before heading for South America... we're gonna take a good 2-3 months I guess in central america and will be staying in cheap hostels etc along the way... not much planned as we want to make those decisions as we go... anyone else going to be in these countries around the same time???

Hi Mike,

We'll definitely be passing through Costa Rica and would be up for a chat/drink etc if you're all settled in by then??? And any advice on local places to visit???

Hey what up every body?
new to this site but not to traveling. my name is Joshua (josue´) right now im in panama. my family and i just drove down here all the way from tuscan Az. about 3000 miles. i can easily provide any of you with with mucho info in all these countries!!
if your going to Guatemala a great place to visit is AutoMariscos in beetween Palin and Amatitlan at kilometer 34 its a water park and resuarant. the water park is a great way to have loads of fun. nice hot tubs. great places to tent camp. extremely freindly staff. foods not too great from my experience but didn´t try everything. from there you can get to a cool valcan Pacaya and a great market on sunday morning in Palin.
