I am moving to the London area from the US very soon for the next six months on a student work visa! I am extreamly excited, but lack much knowledge of the area or where good places to work, live might be. I am an outgoing, adventurous, 23 year old who just graduated with a Bachleors Degree in Radio Broadcasting and would love to get involved in the industry over there in some way! My budget is limited (who's isn't) but I am definatly willing to be flexible!
If anyone can help out with some advice or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Radio Broadcasting eh?

Try the BBC in White City. If you did land a job there then west London is the place for you.

I don't know about accomodation, but I just found a list of Radio stations in London you might want to contact and see if they are looking for interns/trainees...

Good Luck!

Angel & Islington is a nice place to socialise, lots of bars & restaurants. Think it's quite a desirable place to rent a place too. Not sure how expensive it is though.

Hello. I am fairly new to this forum.

I am an actor originally from the United States, but currently living and working in Madrid, Spain.

I am a member of the Screen Actor’s Guild / AFTRA in the USA.

I have both US and EU citizenship and am bilingual in English and Spanish.

I am interested in moving to London next year and am beginning my research now.

I was originally going to move to Canada, but the immigration process makes it too difficult.

I am hoping that someone here might be able to point me in the right direction.

I have only been to London once and would really respect the input from people who are there now and know more about it than me.

I would need to find a reputable talent agent or talent manager.

I would need to find a fairly reasonable place to live and some other stuff.

Sharing a room in a flat or house or any other type of cost effective student housing would all be okay.

I plan on working as an actor and taking theatre classes.

I do not drink or form part of the rowdy nightlife, so any neighborhood with cheap housing and good access either by walking or metro will be fine. Maybe inside zone 1 or 2.

So can anyone here help me or tell me where to post these type of questions?

Thank you for your time and consideration.
Rocco

Rocco my man, if you want a decent response to this you need to set up your own thread.

HI, I'm currently in London on a working holiday visa. I was working in the media industry before I came over and found some contract work here that is similar to what i was doing back home. You can try mandy.com , they mainly have media jobs that is leaning towards Tv and Film but I do see some radio broadcasting jobs there too. If you want, we can get together when you come over. I'm relatively new here to , so it's always nice to meet someone and just hang.
