Hey,

Friends are planning to hit Sardinia for their honeymoon. I figure this is the best place on the island. Anyone been or have any ideas where the best place to go is? Im guessing the 2nd week of July to be too hot to want to travel and explore the island, rather chill on the beach and just relax is the best remedy to the stress bulid up to getting married. Looking for the "hot spot" on the island these days.

Much Thanks

MM

hi,
in sardinia never gets tooooo hot! i mean, you can resist it. costa smeralda is beautiful , still very expensive. My parents have a hose there, but I can tell you it's not the best place in the island. It's just one of them. I enlist a few spots worth a visit. stintino, alghero, capo caccia, bosa, piscinas, ingurtosu desert, chia, villasimius, the 'orientale sarda', a spectacular road, cala gonone, berchida, capo codacavallo, costa smeralda, costa paradiso (sanrta teresa di gallura). everything I mentioned is on the sea side, from the very north west all around to the northeast.

best,
caludia

If you like the night life, it's probably a fun thing to do during July/August in Sardegna, as I was told by a friend. You get to see a lot of famous people. Especially in Alghero. Also the pink beach - "La Spiaggia Rosa" - lies on the island of Budelli (the island is located in between Corsica and Sardegna) Not to be missed.

I'll be spending three nights in Santa Margherita di Pula, in the end of May. Can't wait to be there :)

Hi,

I agree with azticca, Costa Smeralda is nice but you have other great places to go, don't miss Capo Testa and Capo Caccia, they're wonderful. I went to Sardinia last year and enjoyed it a lot. I've written a small travel guide which maybe you can find useful. It's based on our own experiences:

Hope you find it useful!

Sardinia is a great place for a honeymoon I think. We went in the beginning of June and stayed in the tourist area called Lido. It was not that much fun, but it only took about 10 minutes to walk in to Alghero. Alghero is a very cousy and romantic town that I can recommend. And from Lido it is also easy to access great beaches and so on. Having a rental car is almost a must if you're staying in Lido.
