Quoting james

Quoting Clarabell

I must add, While I was there I did see some dolphins, and a whale, just from the beach and lighthouse, which was one cool thing about being there that time of year.....

In Summer, there are also plenty of whales to be seen. The difference is that these ones wear bikinis and lie on the sand.

You are so mean James

I was there last October (or was it November?!) and we spotted a whole pod of dolphins and some turtles swimming down below the lighthouse. It's fun any time of year in Byron really, but you just can't expect the weather to always be your best friend.... and boy, it's gotten really expensive since I studied near there in 99 (dang, I feel old )

Yes, I am. Immature also springs to mind....but what the hey!

I haven't been to Byron Bay in about 20 years. We met some girls from Ballina and hung out with them for about a week. I didn't think a whole lot of Byron Bay, but no doubt it's changed a lot in that time.

In my opinion Byron Bay is very over rated, but others will say it is a great place. I guess it just depends how well travelled you are as to how a place rates, because Byron Bay wouldn't rate in my top 200 destinations worldwide, but then to someone who hasn't travelled as extensively it may be in the top 10.

Hi Mario,
depends what your looking for mate, Byron Bay, not bad, but do yourself a favour and go south a few clicks,,,Lennox Head, the beach is fantastic and goes for miles, quite a bit of flying sports there too mate, hand gliding and that parachute thingy where they jump off the cliffs, honest mate worth a look and only about 10 mins south,
