What are your thoughts?

hi ava,

Nice subject, which can give full of different answers. Am french citizen fron polynesia and I met my first australian in London. I have to say that I like australians in general however it´s like every nationalities you have good one and you have the worse. You cant make any generalisation. I find them friendly and open it´s all I ask from my friends.
I hope people keep being friendly with you even when you say you are australian.

My thing is nothing to do with nationality at all - people are people some are nice some not so nice nothing to do with the country of origin. Ive found any Australians l have met to be wonderfully warm people with a great scarcastic ironic sense of humour!

i think australians are like americans - it is a minority who ever actually leave their so it tends to be the quirkier ones who end up being the little cultural ambassadors all over the world. I`ve never met an american i didnt like - but then i havent been to the usa. i have also had people react badly to me being ustralian but what can you do? say you are from new zealand instead, everyone loves the kiwi`s they are like canadians in a way..... and no one ever says anything bad about canadians.

You from a very different opinion of a nation from the people who you meet who are travelling as opposed to the people you meet in their onw country.

Aussies are cool, but then I have lived there for 2 years and those are small towns so I don't know. Besides most of them are kiwis anyway!!

You don't judge people on where they are from at all that is very rediculous. And no not everyone likes the Kiwis i know alot of people that find their accents very annoying and no Australians and Americans are very different just like Kiwis and Australia are. Canidians and Americans are very much alike. Obviously you dont watch the Simpsons or Family guy because they always bag out Canada. The US and Canada have a big rivalry going on and alot of Americans hate canadians and vise versa

Spot on Lou

Exactly how I would describe myself.....

Quirky

That reminds me that last week I was told by ur typical aussie bloke that I was "unconventional"

Us traveling aussies (or those of us who have been fortunate enough to do some major traveling in our lives) are definitely different to most aussies who never leave our shores

hah! as a kiwi i can say that ive heard a lot of shite about aussies. including that they are racist, sexist and stupid. but thats probably bitterness after having lost some sort of rugby, netball or cricket game! the aussies that ive met have all been super nice even if the accent is...different. what do the aussies say about us kiwis?

That's utter rubbish you dumb Kiwi. Now get back in the kitchen where you belong

Nah, Kiwis are cool. Every one that I have met has a strong love of sport and of their country.
