im trying to plan a trip to the caribbean at around the end of the year. I dont want to go anywhere too expensive but also i dont want to go anywhere too dangerous. Ive been looking at jamaica but keep hearing mixed thoughts on how dangerous it is. Any advice would be appreciated thanks.
Cuba or Dominican Republic, parts of Mexico can be cheap too.
Geez, I don't know if Cuba is that cheap anymore.
Maybe things have changed over the last 9 months, but when I was there 1 CUC = approx 1 Euro. And most places for tourists were also highly overpriced as well.
But I know from experince that if you get out of the tourist traps and eat where the locals eat though it can be a hell of a lot cheaper
i am definatly thinking cuba. i had plans to go last year that fell through. I didnt think the convertible peso was worth that much! I will definatly have to do some research but I think cuba is where i want to end up, thanks a bunch.
Sort of depends on what you enjoy doing? Have you looked into St Vincent and the Grenadines? Lovely chain of islands...easy island hopping or stay put on any of these. Inexpensive, pristine,VERY friendly residents and laid back lifestyle. Great food and music everywhere. Lots of info online ck Bequia.net SVGtourism.com and others!
