Hi there,

Can people suggest actual hostels/guesthouses/backpackers where they have stayed, preferably with an address or some form of contact info:

Bangkok
Chiang Mai
Ayuthaya
Phang Nga

Also, any info/experiences/suggestions on Phang Nga?

Thanks so much!

In Bangkok, another vote for Wild Orchid Villa, while if you want a pool go for D&D Inn

For Chiang Mai, Julie Guesthouse and Sarah Guesthouse are both very good.

In Ayutthaya, there is a new guesthouse called Baan Lotus - it is outstanding - set in a large old teak house.

Phang Nga isn't so much of a backpackers area - you don't mean Ko Pha Ngan do you? The beaches though there are very nice and there are stacks of places to stay there - from cheap backpacker places to five star hotels. You can though do tours into the gulf of Phuket from there - a bit touristy, but still good.

Hope that helps

D&D Inn, Kohsan Rd, Bangkok. Just the job.
