Whooooaaa I meant my very English closet, in England :) with harry and william my pet snails...

As for leeches, yeah Im with you on that one, actually I had a leech on me when I went walking in the Foothills (India) on my foot, you should have heard me squeal, but I touched it and it just rolled off...only a little one...

I had scabies once too, although there is a common misconception about these critters, they live between your fingers and at the base of your palm and the term scabies comes from the scabs you get from scratching that is a result of the histamine reaction to the things living in your hands (and occasionally feet)... anyway not pleasant...I got them from a mate, it's easy to contract just holding hands for a while will do it!!

Anyone else got any manky stories??

In Zambia we've seen a good few blister beetles and learned very quickly to avoid them!

These guys are really terrible, they spray you with some acid and the area that's hit turns into a blister. But then, when the blister pops open some time later more acid spills out and creates new blisters around the old one...
Stay away from any beetle with a triangular shaped body!

In South Africa, Johannesburg, where I am right now, we had these things plunging out of the tap a while ago... they're about 3/4 of an inch long....
