Hi! I don't see much here about Kauai, but my husband and I will be going there in September on our honeymoon! I am excited and have no doubt we will make our fair share of discoveries while we're there, but I would love to hear about any great experiences from those of you who have been there before! :) Please tell me anything and everything about a great place to stay, eat, fun and unique (not touristy) things to do...
Thanks! :)

It's been a few years since i was there...but i absolutely LOVED's by far my favorite hawaiian island! I prefer the northern end of the island...there is a group of guesthouses in the town at the northern end that is really great and had a great resturant there too..also another great restaurant was on the way to a lookout known for whale sightings that is about halfway from north to south on the island. You go off the main highway on a long straight road and this restaurant is on a corner...darned if i can remember the names of these places, but it is a small enough island that you should be able to find them by asking around...i will see if i can recall them too...when are you going? The southern tip has nice beaches, snorkeling is only average tho...Kayaking on north shore is spectacular if u go the right time of year when the ocean is calm enough...i will think about it and remember more if i can!

Princeville is the town in the nroth of the island...and the road to the kilawea (sp?) lighthouse is where that awesome resturant was..NaPali coast is spectacular, Wiemea Canyon also interesting...sorry my spelling is not so good tonight, but that is close enough...

I recommend the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club in Lihue. I believe it has the largest pool in all of the Hawaiian islands. Make sure you visit the Fern Grotto and Waimea Canyon while on the island. Oh, and there's good golfing either at Poipu or Princeville.

Oh, and a good place to eat is Gaylords.
