Hi,

My sister did Camp America and loved it. She was lucky and got to work near San Fran. You'll meet lots of new people, and then you can go travelling with them if you wish. I know she still keeps in touch with them, and this is 5 years on.

It is a great way to learn, but not a great way to make money. Also you need to be lucky with your boss.

Take a look at my profile.

i did ccusa in 2002 and had the most amazing experience of my life. I met so many great friends, and the kids were fantastic! I went to a co-ed camp in New York upstate and was a specialist counsellor, i was meant to go back in 2003 but was offered a job in Dubai. I regret that i didnt go back, and know so many people that keep returning year after year! I was also suggest not making any plans after camp as you will meet lots of people and plan to travel with them!

I would suggest going as a general counsellor. The money isnt too bad about 1400USD for the 8week duration, and if you can go to "pre camp" to help set up you will make friends before the majority of the other counsellors get there!!

Go for it, you will have an amazing time , if you have the right attitude.

I also just had a reunion with my camp buddies last month and now want to go back!!
