that we like to have fun !!!
Nah! Let's admit it - just a bunch of alkies!!!
well why not !
I'll go for:
1. Digital Camera
2. Credit Card
3. Passport-VISA (counted as one?)
Gosh this is hard...
Just a comment from the peanut gallery if I may . .. . .
I don't think that a passport is a "luxury item." It would be accuratly filed under "necessary item." Use your imagination! Believe me when I tell you that you do have one!
Come to think of it, if a passport really IS your luxury item, then I wonder just what kind of travel you do! I have an image in my mind of a shady character sneaking over borders in the dead of night, dodging bullets from the border guards! In that case . . .
I think sunscreen is a necessity, so I didn't include it on my list.
I wouldn't take alcohol. I love alcohol, but I haven't been anywhere yet where I couldn't secure alcohol. I guess maybe if I was travelling to some Muslim country, but then I am not sure I would want to be caught crossing the border with alcohol if it was illegal.
And I am also going to assume that my passport and visa are included in my needed items. As well, I am going to assume that "cash" or "credit card" are not luxury items. Those seem like needed items to me. Toiletries, including but not limited to tooth brush, tooth paste and soap are also part of the standard pack.
I always travel with my day hikers and a pair of sandals.
So, with all those riders stated, here I go...
1. Camera. This is so I can take pictures of me in front of cool stuff, like the Taj Mahal or Mt. Fuji. When my mother died (no need to say your sorry, I know you all are) one of the nicest things was going through old photos and putting together a photo album for the funeral home. I want to pass on that joy to those who put together my photo album, plus providing myself some joy when I am old and drooling in some old age home somewhere. It'll be nice to look at the pictures of penguins and me then.
2. Cool looking shades. I always feel special when I am wearing my cool looking shades. I have two pairs of Ray Bans, plus a pair I bought for $10 at the airport in Omaha. Strangely, it's hard to tell them apart. I guess $140 buys you the little Ray Ban logo in the upper corner of the right lens...
3. A Canadian Flag Luggage Tag. And no, it's not so people don't think I am an American. Truly, I am proud of being Canadian. No matter when I go, it is home. I have often thought of getting a maple leaf tattoo on my arm, with the letters YYZ beneath it (YYZ = airport code for Toronto). Maybe if I have one more shot of tequila...
That's my three. Maybe you agree with them, maybe you don't. Maybe you think that some of my necessities are actually luxuries, maybe you don't.
Either way, trust me on the sunscreen.
Gregw - go for the tattoo....
THINK about that tattoo
