in about five days, but i dont really have any plans. I think this total lack of itenerari is kinda a good thing, because i have 2 months to do what i like. Any recomendations? I think im going down to goa first from mumbai. Anyway, im pretty much just going there with a backpack of clothes and some music and books. So, other than the mesquito repellent and a patient attitude, any suggestions on places to go, what to bring, etc etc?
You got your shots too I hope? And take some diarrhoea tablets
Other than that I have nothing to add. I haven't been to India yet.
I havent gotten any injections. I went to india to visit some family a couple years back and got all the standard fare, but found them to be really expensive and covering problems that have a pretty low chance of occuring. So maybe i should, but i bet there cheaper if i get them in india anyway.

in some parts of india they ar not exactly in high supply of clean needles, india has the second highest aid infection rate in the world, when i was there i got VERY sick (dysentry) luckily i had my own neeedles because the rural hospital i was taken to was all out. DONT get shots in india and dont rely on a "hospital" there to A) be clean or B) have the equipment nessacary to treat u. Most ppl get sick to some extent in india. have fun but be safe
hey kyle . . am from mumbai .. goa is a good start . . but u better be ready for the scorching heat in india . . goa should be a good 34 deg C like mumbai . . and humid.
What interests do you have? . . i assume u like the beaches as you heading for goa . . tho' goa is much more than beaches..
You could probably go down further South of India from Goa . . to Kerala . . http://www.keralatourism.org/index.php
And further explore a bit of south india . . West/Central & North india would be an Oven .. 40+ deg C
North East of india is beautiful too .. but a few troubled states
And if you intrested in trekking/mountains n more . . Leh/Ladakh is the place to be .. http://www.dreamladakh.com/
And i don't think you should worry about needles n all . . there are plenty here and no problems so long u go to the right places.
I'm sure you will have a good time.
thanks for all the info traveler 1. Yeah the heats going to be bad, im from arizona, so I think its only mildly hotter than it is here (i dont know celcius but it gets to 120F during the worst of the summer here) so hopefully ill deal well. Thanks for all the recomendations Arun, i definatly plan on checking out kerela. I hadent thought about leh but it seems cool. i also want to check out hampi and varnrassi a lot too.

If it is possible its best to go to a private clinic in India. Especially in the bigger cities they are pretty western standard.
yw kyle . . varnasi n hampi is a good thought . . haven't been there myself .. n if u used to 120 deg F, then india should be fine for you..enjoy... buzz me if ur in mumbai . . me shld be off to london n more on 3rd june.
