cheapest way is by bus, but it will take forever. Regular train service from Amsterdam to Paris is all right, but you have to change in Brussels.

From paris to barcelona, there used to be a night train. and a bus, which you REALLY don't want to take.

Try Vueling Airlines:

Depending on your dates you can fly Paris-Barcelona from 50 to 200 Euros

Imagine how much better the world would look if we wouldn't fly continentally and/or domestically... see my thread on responsable travel in the general forum

I've just read it and can only answer:

1. If you are a traveller, master your time and do Ams-Paris-Barcelona on a bicycle. It will be an absolutely regarding experience. Even better than by train or by bus since you'll be able to stop, talk and touch at your will, not only witness through a window.

2. If you're a tourist and your amount of time is limited, get on a plane.

3. Obviously I strongly recommend option 1.

bus from amsterdam to paris will take you 8 hours and will cost about 20 Euros if I remember correctly. I think it might be less. Search this forum for europe bus to find the name of the company because I cant remember it either. Ryanair most likely will have pretty cheap flights from Paris to Girona, which is an hour outside Barcelona. The web site is deceiving that way because that airport is not listed as BArcelona, it's listed as Girona.

I imagine bus from Paris to Barcelona would be a couple hours longer, you can check mapquest or somethin to compare distances. But the Rysnair flights should be pretty damn cheap.

happy travelling
