I am planning to visit the USA next year (May'07)for about three weeks. I will fly into boston to visit relatives there and then hopefully drive to Orlando Florida where my brother is living. Any advice or information would be gladly welcomed as I am from Ireland and Florida is the only state I have travelled so far. I am interested in history, culture, good food, fun nightlife and areas of scenic beauty. If anybody has any suggestions of places to go or things to do along these lines I would be very grateful as the only place I really have fixed on my agenda so far is New York.
Vermont and Maine are a must esp. in the spring its amazing dont miss it
Best thing about my trip to the US was Whale Watching from Boston Harbour. And that old sailing ship in Boston Harbour... The guided walks around the town...
I don't know how long you have, but you could do quite the tour of East Coast cities starting in Boston and going south. You mentioned NYC, which is a must. You could also hit the smaller Princeton, New Jersey (and visit Princeton University); Washington D.C.; Williamsburg, Virginia (an old--relatively speaking--colonial town); Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Just to name a few places off the top of my head.
