wouterrr has indicated that this thread is about Thailand

Hi there,

At this moment I am staying in Kolkata and intending flying into Thailand for three weeks from 20 June. As here in India the monsoon is arriving around mid-June. Is the monsoon a big deal in June in Thailand? Is it raining all day or is it also possible to put your lazy ass on the beach. Especially I want to visit Bangkok and the beaches in the south.

Another question. I am still in the orientation fase and haven't bought a travelguide of Thailand yet. What should be a must-visit place in South Thailand?

Cheers,
Wouter

HI. June is a monsoon period in Andaman coast of Thailand. It's not a big problem in Bangkok Thou.

If you wish to go for beaching, I suggest you to go to Thai Gulf..eg Samui , Koh Tao or Koh Pa Ngan. It's getting high season there so you can expect slightly expensive accommodation and tour.

A must see..first start in bangkok you must visit The Grand Palace & Emerald Buddha Temple which located in the same compound.

And in Samui, you can do around island tour in just one day. The tour i would recommend is Angthong kayaking. It's fantastic. I wish to get there again.

Have a nice trip.

Well l was in Thailand June 04 and our first week in Bangkok - weather was great sunny skies all the time but as soon as we hit Phuket the skies opened for the 10 days we were there - studded with the odd day of sunshine! It was warm the entire time though. Research since has indicated we should of tried Koh Samui in June instead of Phuket which gets hit by the rains more at this time of year. In saying that rain or no rain - l loved Thailand and would go back there in a blink.
