I hope not, it's OK to have fun but getting 'smashed' is a cop out. How can you enjoy yourself if you're out of control.

So yes, some planning is always necessary - dont forget the 6 P's, Prior Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

You will survive, if you acknowledge where you wasted your time & money and do something positive about your situation.

when i meet people on working holidays i tend to notice this - get pissed- spend money - freak out pattern, perhaps it would be wise next tie to find a job then get wasted

I have noticed so many people just come here to get pissed everynight! I enjoy going out for a few, but every night is a bit of a waste. Especially in a huge country where there is so much to see and do!

I'd rather spend my money on going diving and jumping out of planes (with a parachute of course)

I think that there is a happy medium. I mean I have gone out and blown a whole paycheck on a weekend and had a ball and then others I have spent on travelling and seeing the sites and doing all that stuff and had the same about of fun.

So really it is up to the individual..and it is not just people that go to Australia...I think it is all countries

I never blew all my cash when i first went to Aus, but i did spend a fair chink pissing it against the wall.
Had a good time, but wouldn't do that now. I'd get the job and get life sorted before splashing out big time.

I did the same when I first came to the UK, so maybe you never learn. There is a difference between knowing what to do and actually doing it

When I hear about people travelling in Australia it seems as though that's all they do.

Now I like to go out and get pissed as much as the next person, but definitely not every night.

I'm off to Australia in October and I'm worried that's all that other travellers will want to be doing...
