Well, I just about had all that I can handle here and I am thinking about ditching it all, loading my backpack, camera and laptop and saying, "See ya!"... My plan, you ask? An expedition that will circumnavigate the big blue marble hopefully yielding enough photographs and experiences to produce an illustrated journal that I could pass of as a book and sell.

Keep in mind, I am in the infantile stage of this. Im basically pissed, semi-depressed and wanting to do something absolutely nuts. This is right up my alley. The only rule I am planning on adhering to is simple. NO AIRLINERS! The only stories that you come away from commercial airlines with start like this, "I sat next to the funniest guy..." . -UGH- NOT suitable for printing. So, if it doesnt have amphibious capability or goats in the back, I'm not interested.

Puddle jumper or boat? Which way do I want this thing pointed? Alaska to Russia? Pacific NW to Russia or Japan? I speak a little Russian, and the trans-sib is right there, so I think thats the way I want to go. I am sure there are lots of options, but I havent a clue on where to begin.

So, Travellers, Point me in the right direction!

Thanks so much,
Jason

Sorry to bust your bubbe, but this has been done before. I know of 6 blogs online with people doing exactly the same project as you have planned, all in various states of progess. (Some have their books ready to be printed...)

I do wish you good luck, though.

BTW, consider going the Silk Route instead of the Transsib, there is more to see there.

Thanks for the input! And just for the record, my bubble is perfectly intact. Im sure that people didn't stop writing murder mysteries just because it had been done before. Besides, this thing is mostly about me and my photography. As for the silk route idea. I appreciate it.
