Hi. Brand new member and starting to think of places to go for my honeymoon. I was cautioned against the Caribbean, but would love to go to St. Lucia or any other of the nearby islands. My wedding is next July. Would probably leave for honeymoon on July 9. Any advice...?

Just out of curiosity, Beth - why have you been cautioned against the Caribbean??? Granted, there many other places to visit for your honeymoon, but don't discount the Caribbean just yet.

Though I have never been to St. Lucia, I have heard it is lovely and it is somewhat out of the hurricane belt.

Thanks Isadoar. I was cautioned because because of the hurricane season, told that hurricane season in the caribbean runs from June through November. The caribbean is our first choice, but I'm afraid I'll run into some nasty weather.

HI Beth,

I'd like to encourage you to take your honeymoon in Barbados. while we are in the Caribbean, Barbados is the most easterly in the chain and we don't get hurricanes very often.. having said that.. don't hold me to it.. and it doesn't mean we will not have any rain days.. but over all it's a great place to visit.

There are many different places to choose from for accommodation. I would recommend checking out and having a look at what we offer for a place to stay as well as things to do.

any questions let me know.
