i will be travelling europe for a month and then heading on for Boston USA without returning home to ireland, which would be the best/cheapest european airport to fly out from so i can plan my european tour.

You haven't mentioned which airports will be at your conveniance. Though there are many options. I think you should check some online travel agents. If you will suggest any of your priorites I could think of something particular.

Please don't say Dublin because if i go home after travelling for a month I will probably just curl up in my bed and not get out again. I will be travelling through Spain, France, Netherlands, a short while in Germany and a couple of places in eastern europe that I have not decided on yet (not necessarily in that order) I would though add another country to my itinery if they did cheap flights to boston though.

Try Germany, if you are flying in September. British Airways via London and Ibero had some cheap deals. Also check flying into Washington DC and NYC.
