Medication advice anyone?!

Travel Forums Round the World Travel Medication advice anyone?!

Hey there,

I was wondering whether anyone can help me with travel advise regarding the medication which I take and on daily basis....

I'm commencing my travels in November and as an Asthma sufferer I am worried about running out of medication.

I visited my GP yesterday to ask him what I can do as I was thinking that he might be able to give me a barrel load of inhalers to take with me (not very practical I know!) but after telling him what countries I will be visiting (SE Asia, OZ and NZ) he said that I should be able to buy what I need over the counter.

Even though I put alot of trust into my GP I am a little dubious about this and I would hate to think that I get half way around the world to find that this is not the case! The thought is actually enough to send me into panic mode and have an asthma attack!!!

Does anyone have any personal experiences of this or any advise about what I can expect? Any help will be greatfully received!

Thanks very much :)

i've got asthma as well but necer seen it as problem when traveling. and in "civilized" western kind of countries the meds are widely available. and i would say that also on less western kind of countries, at least in china and vietnam.

but if you feel insecure take all the drugs with you. it would be dull to worry about the medication all journey long.

by the way,how long time are planning to spend abroad?

I dont suffer asthema, but I did find that every country I travelled to had pharmacies that stocked pretty much everything and anything...even in India!
